District Judge Elizabeth Scherer will formally sentence her to life on November 1.

The families of the victims and the injured Cruz students and teachers will have the opportunity to speak during the sentencing hearing.

Cruz, 24, pleaded guilty a year ago to killing 14 students and three staff and wounding 17 others at Stoneman Douglas on February 14, 2018.
