Rajamouli’s RRR bags two Critics Choice Awards-Best foreign film, best song

Film RRR continues its winning streak. SS Rajamouli’s blockbuster won two trophies at the Critics Choice Awards (CCA): Best Foreign Language Film, and Best Song for Naatu Naatu.

The Telugu magnum opus features Ram Charan, Jr NTR and was nominated for five CCA categories: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Foreign Language Film, Best Visual Effects, V Srinivas Mohan, Best Song, and Best Picture (‘Naatu Naatu’).

 

 

 

 “RRR” won the Best Foreign Language Film award against “Argentina 1985”, and other films like “All Quiet on the Western Front”, “Bardo”, “False Chronicles of a Handful Of Truths”, and “Decision to Leave”.

RRR’s foot-tapping dance routine “Naatu Naatu” won the Golden Globes’ ‘best original song motion picture’ award. It was also nominated for the CCA along with “Carolina”, (“Where the Crawdads Sing”), “Ciao Papa,” (Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio), and “Hold My Hand” (“Top Gun: Maverick), as well as “Lift Me up” (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever), “New Body Rhumba”) (White Noise)

 

 

 

 Recently, Naatu Naatu was also awarded the Los Angeles Film Critics Association’s (LAFCA), best music core award.

The track was composed by MM Keeravaani, a veteran music director. It is voiced by Kala Bhairava (vocalist) and Rahul Sipligunj (singer).
