What are Common Services Centers (CSC)?

Common Services Centers (CSC) provide various e-governance and business services to the citizens in rural and remote areas of India. It is a Pan India program that caters to the geographical, linguistic, and cultural diversity of the country, bringing various services to the citizens using technology in a simple manner. As a vital part of the Digital India Program, the CSC program facilitates e-services to citizens, including public utility services, social welfare schemes, financial services, education and skill development courses, healthcare, and agricultural services, thereby leading the nation towards digitization.

CSC serves as a platform through which different services can be easily accessible to people in every corner of the country. It helps in providing e-services to citizens with great ease and convenience.

How CSC Works?

CSC is an e-Governance service that acts as a specialized operational system, connecting the local population with government departments, private and government banks, insurance companies, and other service providers through IT-enabled networks.

In simple terms, CSC serves as a platform where Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs) operate their activities and provide services to users. Through CSC, various government and non-government schemes can be easily accessible to citizens across the country.
